Laurel's in town this week and we've already gotten together to screen print some shirts and make some more buttons. Look!
We had a lot of fun with that last night. I'm so glad to finally get one of my screen printing ideas out there. I need to get some more supplies to make more screens so I can have more than one design at a time. And I don't want to get rid of this design until I see how it's received. I guess. And I really love it. (Isn't that sort of the kiss of death?)
Laurel and I are going out again tonight to Arizona's for some great food and, my favorite, Guinness draught. Yumm. And then the Boston Legal finale is on tonight. OMG. (Then, finally, my small amount of TV shows will be done until next season. I hate how TV dictates my nightly schedule. Oh well, I love the shows.)
Last night when Laurel was holding the screen and I was running the ink over it, Mom kept saying "don't run it over too many times" and how all her screen printing stuff was coming back to her -- she used to co-own a screen printing shop but I think she dealt more with paperwork and less with the hands-on stuff. It was funny. *shrug*
Work is not busy. I'm sitting here, pretending to work, and people aren't really caring.
A couple things you may not know about me:
1. I hate-slash-loathe hand sanitizer.
2. I can only sleep without pants on (just a shirt and undies) while at home. Sometimes at school... maybe once a semester. (And I prefer sleeping just in undies and a shirt.)
3. I'm obsessed with James Spader. (On Vox, I'm not sure how much you guys know about this.)
4. I bought a PS2 mainly to be able to play Guitar Hero when I wasn't at school -- my roommate at school has a Wii with Guitar Hero.
That's all I can think of at the moment.
I'm a little drunk so this post came out of nowhere. And I'm going to sleep now. (Pay day is tomorrow, guyzz!)
New shirt on LyLaCo! OMG!
And I bought a screen printing kit yesterday -- I hope it comes on one of my days off next week.
I also bought two shirts from slowshirts.etsy.com. Check that store out. Thanks to Craig, I now have two of the coolest shirts ever from Slow Loris. Well, I will have them. They're in the mail.
first photoshoot with my sis as photographer and my newest shirt on lylaco.etsy.com:
this is probably the first "photoshoot" that i was most like myself. i'm kind of silly in real life.
i also dropped the shirt prices on lylaco. maybe someone will buy something. (i'm working on the networking. i'm trying.)
Started back at work yesterday -- same place I've been (on and off) since March 2002. Entering customer information into the Filemaker database. Nothing really changes around here.
Yesterday, I spent some time looking up grad school possibilities in Boston and NYC. I've looked at BU, Northeastern, LIU/Brooklyn, a few others. Those seem to be at the top for the moment. I'm going to keep looking. And I need to decide when I want to take the GRE. I never said this wouldn't be a busy summer.
Also -- look at this worthless animal:
Max/Maxie/Maximoose/Maxipad, the obsessive-compulsive jack russell.
I made a new shirt last night while drinking Carlsberg and watching House, but I didn't get around to listing it because drinking makes me sleepy so I went to bed sort of early-ish. I'll list it tonight. Maybe get Lauren (my sis) to model it for me, as it's much easier to take pictures of other people than yourself -- especially for Etsy purposes.
I have at least one friend (maybe two) that is(/are) supposed to visit me this summer and I don't want to wait. I want them here now. (I have no friends at home -- they're all in Florida, where I go to school. Or in Towson -- where my best friend is.)
So far this week I've been running around doing miscellaneous crap.
I've cleaned up my room (like I always do after I get home from school) and I have a crapload of old clothes that I'm going to be using for etsy purposes. Such as the shirt I made today:
I had to drive the dogs around today 'cause mom was getting the house appraised to refinance, and then I had to stop at GameStop to sell my old X-Box back, then went BACK out 'cause mom needed me to take her somewhere 'cause her car's in the shop. And so on and so on.
I looked at a place here for a silk screen kit and couldn't find one. I guess I need to try one more place before I buy one online. Any recommendations? I've heard one or two, but I thought I'd put the question out here, too.
Man United's going to Moscow and I am attempting to assuage my grief (and perhaps bitterness), I'm drinking beer and eating chocolate. (It's way too late to be eating chocolate.)
i'm home in maryland.
i'm on my third hornsby's and i've forgotten how great it is to be able to drink at home. oh, man. i need to go out and get a 12-pack of something tomorrow. yes, plz.
also -- i did a lot of cleaning out of stuff today, when i got home. i have a bag of old clothes i'm going to be playing with. and tomorrow, mom and i have got some shopping to do so i expect to stock up and for etsy to start rolling this week. hellllllz yeah.
sorry. i'm slightly tipsy. i don't want it to end.
My mom's in St. A. I'm studying for my 8am exam and wanting nothing more than to be the hell out of this state. I'm looking forward to a weekend in NC -- away from people for a bit. People become, honestly, retarded during finals week.
One of the first things my mom said to me when she saw me (first time since early January, mind you) was, "so let me see this new tattoo." Oh, mother.
I leave tomorrow, by 12:30pm (at the latest.) I'll be in NC this weekend and I believe the cottage only has dial-up so I'm not going to bother with the whole online thing, more than likely.
See you guys Sunday. Or Monday.
Tomorrow is going to be amazing. In my earlier post I mentioned "Roomie Night" -- well, it's something that we imbibe in every Tuesday night, usually after dinner. Well, this Tuesday night is the last "Roomie Night" of the semester/academic year so it's a "Roomie Extravaganza." Everything fits the title, too:
- Liverpool's first CL Semi-Final leg is against Chelsea at Anfield
- photo shoot with Jack (this will be explained and I will post pictures later)
- Denny and Alan have their first case at the Supreme Court on "Boston Legal" (lol, I can't wait.)
One exam tomorrow. (Really, I just turn in a portfolio and a paper.) One actual exam on Wednesday at 2pm. (Mom and Jimmy get in Wednesday night -- dinner at A1A! Free food and beer!) I'll also be moving most of my stuff out that night. Thursday I have an actual exam at 8am, then at 10am I have to turn in a paper for another exam and grade a couple other papers. Thursday night I leave FL and we head to NC to stay in Kill Devil Hills (Outer Banks) at my Aunt and Uncle's cottage until Sunday, more than likely. So, Sunday or Monday I should, actually, be home. YAYAY.
I go back to work May 5th, which is good. Money. This summer will be: Etsy-ing, studying for the GRE, looking at grad schools and, hopefully, compiling a trip to Philly/NYC/Boston.
I've noticed I always blog about what's coming up... hm.
Today was all right. All I did, though, was hang around. I didn't have an exam so I worked on some last minute exam stuff, took down the stuff off my walls, worked at the library for an hour, and made a run to the post office. That's it, really.
Oh, and I took this self-portrait last Friday and it's been viewed a lot on flickr, for some reason.
I think it's the tattoo tag.
Yeah, I let my kit sit for too long and Craig did a bit of virtual slapping... he told me... read more
on my chest... is one of drawers
